Flourishing mezzo-soprano Grace Allendorf is known for her “creamy timbre, evenness of color and coloratura agility”. A consummate musician, she is dedicated to performing opera, oratorio, art song, musical theatre, and new music. Grace is excited to be making her Longwood Opera debut as the Dew Fairy in their November production of "Hansel and Gretel". Grace was thrilled to join the Andover Choral Society this past spring as the alto soloist for Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass".  In addition to many solo performances, she has recently shared the stage with the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, MetroWest Choral Artists, and Coro Allegro. She was honored to premiere the role of Lilac Fair in “Sleeping Beauty” by Francine Trester as a second year apprentice in the Nahant Music Festival in 2014. Other premieres include works by Josh Hummel and Dominick DiOrio. Previous engagements include Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” with the Freisinger Chamber Orchestra, Haydn’s “Lord Nelson Mass” with the New England Classical Singers; Septemberfest at Longy School of Music; Mozart’s “Missa Brevis” with the Spectrum Singers and Emmanuel Music Chamber Orchestra; Noontime Recital Series at St. Paul's Cathedral; and the Recital Series at the Morrill Memorial Library. Grace currently serves as a section leader and soloist at First Parish in Milton and is a cantor at St. Richard's in Danvers. She holds a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Longy School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a minor in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University. She is a student of Jayne West and has participated in master classes with Ryan Turner, Sharon Daniels, James Maddalena, David Kravitz, Martin Katz, Sondra Kelly, and Sheri Greenawald.
